Slirp is a program which allows TCP/IP programs to be run over a serial line. Without it, life would be a lot less fun...
Linux is a free Unix, for a wide range of machines including Intel x86, alpha, m68k, and ppc.
Raytracing is neat -- I use POV-Ray 3.0 for some images and POVAFX 1.0 for others. Above is one of my works of art -- a 320x240 jpeg of a snowman. You can now see some more of my pictures here.
